POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager, Partner Engagement will support the Director, Partner Engagement in operationalizing and integrating strategies to support organization-wide efforts to center race equity and health justice in Community Catalyst’s partner engagement and capacity building work. The Project Manager is part of the Equity and Engagement team and will work closely with members of the Power Building team, in the efforts to reimagine and build new ways of partnering that centers race equity and intersectionality.

The Project Manager will play a key role in managing our internal technical assistance learning community in collaboration and coordination with the Power Building team, in bridging our work to center race equity related to our partnership building and technical assistance across programs. In this role, the manager will assist in fostering collaboration across programs and partners in applying a race equity and healing justice lens, and support Community Catalyst staff through identifying internal learning and capacity building opportunities to help foster trust in the organization. The manager will be the lead in administrative coordination of the Partner Engagement team, and will serve a point of contact in support of aligning our work with staff and external stakeholders on events and activities. Under the leadership of the Director, the Project Manager will also support communication efforts across programs to support programs organization-wide–through sharing best practices and resources for integrating a race equity lens in our capacity building and programmatic work. The manager will contribute to and drive the implementation of an overarching plan to establish, manage and track new and existing partner relationships at local, state and national level across the organization. Related, the Project Manager will serve a flexible role in support of organizational efforts to lean into progress and capture lessons for broader application. Finally, a critical part of the assisting the Equity and Engagement team in the coordination of strong integration and alignment between Community Catalyst’s internal diversity, equity, & inclusion (DEI) efforts and the external work of building and advancing programs – and ways of working – that center race equity and health justice.

Supervision:

The Project Manager of Partner Engagement will report to the Director of Partner Engagement and will supervise the program coordinator.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Director of Partner Engagement (Director) in developing overarching strategy to establish, manage and track new and existing partner relationships at local, state and national level across the organization
  • Build strong relationships and partnerships cross-organizationallyCoordinate and collaborate closely with related Community Catalyst programs, particularly the Power Building team, to assure maximum synergy and collective learning
  • Assist Director and manage collaborative, organization-wide process of reimagining Community Catalyst’s partnering and technical assistance work.
  • Assist Director in management of the project, including developing work plan and monitoring project impact by tracking and reporting on performance measures and program accomplishments. 
  • Work closely with Director and Power Building team and in coordination with programs to develop process for measuring and monitoring quality and impact of capacity building and technical assistance.
  • Collaborate with Director and Power Building team to document lessons learned, best practices and recommendations for improved training, skill building and quality of capacity building for technical assistance providers.
  • Assist in managing and providing strategic guidance to capacity building providers including but not limited to State Advocacy Managers, Policy Analysts, TA Providers and Program Associates.
  • In coordination with other project staff, maintain regular communication with collaborating national partner organizations, and carry out communications activities to ensure the visibility of the project.
  • Provide capacity building and technical assistance in limited capacity and/or serve on technical assistance teams as needed.Collaborate closely with technical assistance providers to ensure they are able to support and meet the needs of external partners. 
  • Work closely with Power Building team to coordinate overall training and capacity building including update orientation for TA providers, improve internal learning, training and support related to capacity building on areas
  • Coordinate development of cross-organizational tools, policy briefs, and other resources based on needs of TA providers and related capacity building.
  • Facilitate TA provider monthly meeting, learning community activities, cross-organizational trainings.Coordinate closely with related Community Catalyst programs to assure maximum synergy and learning, including relevant members of Senior Management.
  • Participate in meeting with key stakeholders and advisors as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to achieve the goals of the project and organizational success.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least 4 years relevant work experience, or 6 relevant work experience.
  • Commitment to Racial justice and experience in social change activism such as but not limited to: legislative advocacy or political/policy issue campaigns; community organizing; working with coalitions and stakeholders; power building; and/or strategic communications.
  • Highly-developed attention to detail, with the ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Direct experience providing technical assistance, coaching, capacity building and/or closely related activity.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the political process, community or partner engagement and how those things interface with systems change efforts.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including experience with public speaking, training, facilitating, and/or coaching.
  • Strong project management skills with proven ability to manage several projects at once and respond to tight timelines.
  • Strong cross-collaborator and team player with the ability and experience working independently.

  • Salary Range: $62,500 - $75,000
