Dorothea Polk

Dorothea Polk, Strategic Manager, VEAP Previous to joining Community Catalyst, Dorothea volunteered as an AmeriCorps member with Zufall Health Center. While with the health center she focused on community outreach, program implementation and social determinants of health as barriers to care. Inspired by her work with the health center; Dorothea pursued a Masters in Public Health, from the University of South Florida, majoring in Management and Policy. While pursuing her degree she worked with Florida Covering Kids and Families most recently, as the KidCare Project Manager. She provided day-to-day oversight of Medicaid and CHIP focused grants promoting enrollment, outreach, and training activities. Outside of work and school she was an Area Health Education Center Scholar and served as a US liaison while in Indonesia studying community participation in health.
