Jessie Zimmerer

Senior Campaign Manager

As Campaign Manager at Community Catalyst, Jessie is responsible for day-to-day management of our federal campaigns and for providing support and guidance for state campaigns conducted by our program staff and state partners. Working with the Director and Associate Director of Policy, Jessie devises both long- and short-term campaign strategies for the organization—including legislative, field, and communications components—to advance health justice, increase organizing power, and strengthen civic engagement initiatives related to quality, affordable, and equitable health care.

Jessie brings nearly a decade of experience in state and local government and campaigns to her work at Community Catalyst, having been elected to the La Grande City Council at age 23, and serving in a variety of capacities in campaign and government offices in the years since. Most recently, as a Legislative Director in the Massachusetts Senate, she was a leader in statewide efforts to reform the broken criminal justice system, establish basic civil rights protections for LGBTQIA+ people, and ensure equitable access to industry for women and people of color. She earned her Master’s in Public Policy and Women’s/Gender Studies from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University.

Community Catalyst works to ensure consumer interests are represented wherever important decisions about health and the health system are made: in communities, courtrooms, statehouses and on Capitol Hill.
