Justice in Aging (formerly National Senior Citizens Law Center) updated its Fix List to describe the most recent problems in the roll out of California’s Coordinated Care Initiative, which includes the Cal-MediConnect duals demonstration. A number of issues were related to enrollment notices, access to benefits and billing.
Michigan
The Michigan Department of Community Health hosted two provider webinars and is planning two more webinars on the MI Health Link duals demonstration. MI Health Link started in the Upper Peninsula and Southwest Michigan on March 1 and so far 134 people have opted into the program with 1661 opting out.
New York
The New York State Department of Health announced that enrollment in the Fully Integrated Duals Advantage (FIDA) demonstration Region 2, Suffolk and Westchester counties, has been delayed until further notice. The delay will allow plans to address provider network adequacy issues and allow them to focus their efforts to increase outreach and marketing in Region 1, New York City and Nassau County, which went live on January 1. Also, according to a recent article in Capital New York, 765 individuals have opted into the FIDA program and 27,932 individuals have opted out.
