Tomorrow night’s state of the union marks the first time President Biden will speak to Congress. Our job is to remind the Biden administration and policymakers that health care is central to infrastructure – and the time to be bold is now.
The funding coming into your state first and foremost must be responsive to the needs of people and communities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic
We worked with local community groups who trained nearly 1,000 community residents in Minneapolis, Portland, and the Bronx to serve as community advisors for hospital community health needs assessments, and to urge hospital investments in community-prioritized projects such as multi-use affordable housing.
Our support of Rhode Island advocacy partners helped them mount a successful campaign to continue funding for a free bus program serving older adults and people with disabilities.
We won federal and state community benefit regulations and standards that require resident engagement and encourage investment in housing, environment, and other social and economic drivers of health.
