California

California produced a series of videos explaining the Cal Mediconnect dual eligible demonstration project to consumers.

Michigan

The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) announced a change to the implementation timeline for MI Health Link, the state’s dual eligible demonstration project. Originally slated to start January 2015, voluntary enrollment will now begin March 1, 2015 in the Upper Peninsula and southwest Michigan. Passive enrollment will start May 1, 2015 for these two regions. The dates have not changed for the other two regions, Wayne and Macomb counties. In those regions, voluntary enrollment will begin May 1, 2015 and passive enrollment will start July 1, 2015.

In other news, the Medicare-Medicaid Coordination Office posted the Michigan Evaluation Design Plan.

New York

On December 1, New York officially launched the Independent Consumer Advocacy Network (ICAN), which will serve as the ombudsman for enrollees in any of New York state’s managed care plans who receive long-term care services under such plans. This umbrella includes enrollees in the Fully Integrated Duals Advantage program, New York’s dual eligible demonstration project. ICAN is a program of Community Service Society and is funded by the State of New York.

Ohio

The Ohio Department of Medicaid released a provider update sharing information on the background of MyCare Ohio, impacts upon providers and options for them to join MyCare Ohio provider networks in their area.
