California

As of January 1, the Cal-Mediconnect demonstration started passively enrolling beneficiaries with January birthdays, those in Duals Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) operated by a Cal MediConnect Plan, those reassigned to a Part D Plan in 2014 and those who would have been reassigned to a Part D Plan in 2015 and those who reside in Santa Clara County.

Massachusetts

The next One Care Implementation Council meeting is scheduled for January 9. The Council plays a key role in monitoring the One Care program, including access to health care and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), tracking quality of services, providing support and input to the state Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS), and promoting accountability and transparency.

New York

The New York Fully Integrated Duals Advantage (FIDA) demonstration started on a voluntary enrollment basis on January 1. Passive enrollment is scheduled to start April 1.

The Medicare-Medicaid Coordination Office posted frequently asked questions for providers interested in learning more about the FIDA Demonstration. The information included is focused on FIDA basics, provider networks, and the continuity of care provisions.

In other news, the New York Department of Health has revised the phase-in schedule for the transition of the nursing home population into Medicaid Managed Care and Managed Long-Term Care by one month, from January 1 to February 1, for those in the New York City region – Bronx, Kings, New York, Queens and Richmond counties. Voluntary and passive enrollment into the FIDA demonstration for this population will not take place until August1, 2015.

Ohio

On January 1, MyCare Ohio enrollees started receiving their Medicare services through their MyCare plan. Enrollees do have the choice to opt out if they wish.
