Senior State Advocacy Manager, State Consumer Health Advocacy Program

Alberto Gonzalez serves as Senior State Advocacy Manager for the State Consumer Health Advocacy Program supporting Community Catalyst partners advancing health care coverage initiatives. Alberto offers technical assistance, campaign strategies and capacity building tools to consumer health advocates promoting affordable health coverage in key states. 

Prior to joining Community Catalyst, Alberto served as Statewide Policy Advocate for the California Immigrant Policy Center advancing health care legislation benefitting immigrant families and communities. Alberto worked with health and anti-poverty advocates in CA protecting state health and social services programs targeting low-income, immigrant communities. Alberto developed and managed health care legislation for the California State Assembly from 2008-11. In 2008, he served as Field Organizer for President Barack Obama’s presidential campaign in New Mexico.

Alberto received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley and his master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School.

Community Catalyst works to ensure consumer interests are represented wherever important decisions about health and the health system are made: in communities, courtrooms, statehouses and on Capitol Hill.
