Christian leads Community Catalyst’s and the Community Catalyst Action Fund’s campaign activities. She provides support, training and technical assistance to state and local organizations to develop expertise when there is an opportunity to make a policy or systemic change at the federal, state or local level, and builds campaigns to support federal priorities with a strong focus on grassroots organizing, coalition and partnerships, and civic engagement strategies.
Christian brings a wide range of experience in advocacy, government relations, and the non-profit sector to her role. She previously served as District Director for Congresswoman Katherine M. Clark (D-MA). At Jumpstart for Young Children, Christian directed government relations efforts, advocating for the organization on Capitol Hill and securing extensive government funding for its early childhood education programming. As a senior member of the political and advocacy staff at Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Action Fund, Christian developed and executed national advocacy campaigns to mobilize 4 million+ activists in support of policy priorities including health care reform and access as well as comprehensive sexuality education. In addition, she directed the national strategy to train and engage key constituency groups, including pro-choice clergy, youth and communities of color.
Christian has a B.A. in Political Science from Boston University.
