Gabrielle Orbaek White

State Advocacy Manager, Alliance for Children's Health

Gabrielle Orbaek White serves as State Advocacy Manager for the Alliance for Children’s Health, supporting Community Catalyst partners in their regional, state and national health care initiatives. Gabrielle offers technical assistance in coalition building and maintenance, grassroots organizing, organizational strategic planning, fundraising, and designing and implementing successful health advocacy campaigns. 

Prior to joining Community Catalyst, Gabrielle served as a Program Specialist for the Community & Family Health Program at the Department of State Health Services, based in Houston, Texas. There, she provided technical assistance and consultative services that focused on strategies to catalyze policy and systems-level change related to the food system and build environment, with the goal of preventing obesity in the Houston region. Gabrielle was also the Co-Chair of the Houston Food Policy Workgroup, a diverse coalition dedicated to strengthening the regional food system. As Co-Chair, she assisted the Workgroup in building relationships with strategic partners, solidifying coalition goals and strategic direction, and building capacity for action and grassroots advocacy.

Gabrielle received her Bachelor’s degree from Rice University and her Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in health services organization from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.

Community Catalyst works to ensure consumer interests are represented wherever important decisions about health and the health system are made: in communities, courtrooms, statehouses and on Capitol Hill.
