Managing Dementia in the Primary Care Setting

“Eldercare Voices” is an occasional feature of the Dual Agenda, inviting guest commentators directly involved in care delivery to older adults to share their perspectives from the field. This edition's column on managing dementia in primary care is from Angela Hanson, MD, a geriatrician who specializes in the care of older adults with dementia. She completed her training in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at the University of Washington. Currently she is a member of the Memory and Brain Wellness Center care team at Harborview Medical Center. Her research interests include understanding how dietary factors can affect cognition and Alzheimer's disease progression.
